Lincoln Hall to host Beastie Boys tribute

You’ll have to fight for your right to a ticket for "Time for Livin," a one-time-only event to celebrate the life and music of Adam "MCA" Yauch and The Beastie Boys.

Musicians from all over Chicago will come together at Lincoln Hall on July 2 to pay tribute to Yauch's recent death through inspired versions of songs from the Beastie Boy's legendary career. The evening will feature performances by members of The Right Now, JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound, Scotland Yard Gospel Choir, ShowYouSuck, Rita J, The Drastics, Bumpus, Akasha, Liquid Soul, Abstract Giants, Clip Art, Marvin Tate's D-Settlement, Any Kind, Gunnelpumpers, DJRC and more.

Beyond music, the event also will commemorate MCA's film ventures and humanitarian work to free Tibet. All proceeds from the event, which include ticket sales, a raffle and a poster by local designer Scott Williams, will benefit Students for a Free Tibet.
