Lolla ticket holders, are you hungry to hear what restaurants will be selling snacks at this summer’s fest? Local chef Graham Elliot is in his fourth year as “culinary ambassador” to Lollapalooza, recruiting local chefs to set up booths at the fest’s food court, called Chow Town, and the vendor lineup was released June 12.
New Chicago restaurants joining this year’s food court include Lakeview Japanese eatery Chizakaya, West Loop coffee roastery La Colombe and South Loop Spanish restaurant Mercat a la Planxa.
A few new additions to this year’s lineup don’t currently have storefronts in Chicago, but already have a foodie fan base. Chicago-area chef Suzy Singh (who competed on the second season of “MasterChef,” which Elliot judges) will have a booth for her company Ashyana Catering. Chef Frank Brunacci, who left his post at Trump Tower’s Sixteen to start his own truffle importing business, will dole out three different truffle-centric dishes at his booth, called the Australian Truffle. Puffs of Doom, a local farmers market favorite, will also dole out artisan cream puffs.
Returning restaurant Kuma’s Corner will have some burger competition in the way of fast-food fave M Burger as well as Evanston favorite Edzo’s Burger Shop, which is notoriously hard for city-goers to get to thanks to its 4 p.m. closing time.
Other returning vendors of note from last year include Franks ‘n’ Dawgs, Goose Island Brewpub, Robinson’s No. 1 Ribs, The Smoke Daddy and of course, Elliot’s own Grahamwich.
