Iron & Wine, Glen Hansard to headline Hideout Block Party

Two-day fest starts Sept. 14

Chicago music fans have yet another fest to add to their summer schedules: The Hideout and The Onion's A.V. Club have teamed up to throw the Hideout Block Party, a two-day fest set for Sept. 14-15.

Acts include Iron & Wine, Glen Hansard (formerly of The Frames/Swell Season/that movie with the girl and all the singing), Lee Fields & The Expressions (Google them for some throwback soul) and The Corin Tucker Band (yes, from Sleater-Kinney). In true festival test-of-patience style, a second round of acts is set to be released on June 25 and another round in July.

If the lineup already sounds solid to you, two-day passes are on sale at hideoutchicago.com. If you hurry, you can snag an early-bird ticket for $40 (plus sweet, sweet fees). Regular two-day passes are $50 with single-day tickets available later this summer.

Bonus: A portion of your ticket price goes to Chicago charities such as Rock for Kids and Literacy Works.
