Black Lips, Flosstradamus to play West Fest

Bands and DJs will headline West Town festival July 7 and 8

Indie punk band the Black Lips and the Chicago-based DJs known as Flosstradamus will be headlining this year’s West Fest on July 7, according to a news release.

The festival, which includes music, family events and the area’s best restaurants, will take place July 7-8 on Chicago Avenue between Damen and Wood, with both acts performing Saturday night.

Along with the normal fest fare of neighborhood shops, restaurants and artists will be a handful of bands and DJs performing throughout the weekend on two stages.

The bands announced are the Black Lips, He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister and Stagnant Pools, performing on Saturday on the Main Stage and Bad Veins, R Ring and Bestfriends performing on Sunday.

Among the DJs that will be performing at the BP DJ stage at Chicago and Wood are Flosstradamus, Sinden and Zebo on Saturday and Derrick Carter, Diz and Jesse De La Pena on Sunday.

West Fest also plans to feature a Kid Fest for children from noon to 6 p.m., and Pup Fest dedicated exclusively to dogs.
