1.5 million expected at O'Hare and Midway

Print out your boarding pass and check into the gate early. Memorial Day weekend is nearly here. As one of the busiest travel holidays of the year, here's a closer look at what it means for Chicago's airports.

1.5 million – number of passengers expected to travel through O'Hare and Midway airports during the six days surrounding the holiday weekend (Thursday through Tuesday).

2.8 percent – the increase of travel this year compared to same period in 2011.

260,000 – passengers expected to be at O'Hare's busiest day, which is Thursday.

67,000 – number of passengers expected to be at Midway on its busiest day, which is Friday.

1 million – passenger traffic expected at O'Hare during the holiday weekend.

2.5 percent – increase in traffic at O'Hare compared to last Memorial Day weekend.

444,000 — passengers expected to go through Midway the holiday weekend.

3.5 percent – increase in passenger volume at Midway compared to last Memorial Day holiday weekend.
