5 Chicago restaurants to feast in a holiday meal on Easter Sunday

Honey-baked ham may be the staple of a traditional Easter feast, but restaurants around Chicago are mixing it up when it comes to holiday menus this year. After mulling over dozens of Easter brunch menus, these five dishes made our stomachs growl the most. Here's the lowdown on where to order them on Sunday. Reservations are recommended, so call now to claim a table. 

The dish: Oyster po boy with pancetta, egg yolk and remoulade
Order it at: Gold Coast restaurant Balsan (11 E. Walton St. 312-646-1400), where it’s part of the three-course brunch menu. Other choices include lobster salad with truffle vinaigrette and brioche French toast with candied oats, rhubarb compote and citrus creme fraiche.
Details: 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sunday; $90 per person (price includes a mimosa)

The dish: Japanese red bean and mixed berry pancakes
Order it at: Roka Akor Steak & Sushi (456 N. Clark St. 312-477-7652) in River North, where it’s one of many brunch specials. Other choices include a robata-grilled pork belly omelet and confit duck legs with mango salad.
Details: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.  Sunday; specials cost $12-$28 each

The dish: Roasted onion tart with cheddar, bacon and peas
Order it at: The Gage (24 S. Michigan Ave. 312-372-4243) in the South Loop, where it’s being featured alongside other a la carte brunch specials such as roasted lamb chops and brioche toast with a poached egg, asparagus and morels.
Details:  10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday; specials cost $9-$30 each

The dish: Beet, goat cheese and hazelnut salad
Order it at: Bin 36 (339 N. Dearborn St. 312-755-9463) in River North, where it’ll be part of the brunch buffet alongside Swan Creek Farms’ ham, corned beef hash, roast beef with horseradish cream, an omelet station and more. Make the meal more festive with a bloody mary or mimosa flight ($12.50).
Details: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; $42 per person

The dish: Spring frittata with ramps, wild mushrooms, peas and lemon ricotta
Order it at: Deleece (3747 N. Southport Ave. 773-325-1710, pictured), which is celebrating its first Easter in its new location down the street in Lakeview. This holiday special will be available along with ham hash and a lamb burger with sheep’s milk feta and olive tapenade.
