The Bongo Room, the ever-popular American brunch spot with locations in Wicker Park and the South Loop, is planning to open a third outpost on Andersonville’s Clark Street strip in early April. Owner John Latino said they’ll be closing the deal on the building (5022 N. Clark St.) sometime tomorrow, Feb. 17.

Latino said the retail space was constructed to be a sleek wood-burning pizza eatery that never opened, and that the interior has more modern touches than their other similarly-sized locations. The menu will be the same, potentially with a few surprises to come.

While there will be a liquor license eventually, Latino says they may open their doors before it is granted, though diners will not be allowed to BYO during that time. An outdoor patio exists in the space, but the staff is uncertain if they’ll be using it.
