Love on the CTA: it's a beautiful thing

It's Valentine's Day, and you don't have a date? Don't panic yet; it's not too late.

Several missed CTA connections are posted on RedEye's site. Some romantic, some funny, many based on sight.

Going Public created a poem of some of the best pines. Orange, Blue and the bus lines.

Each line is from a different submission. Check 'em out if you want love or if you're just out fishin':

I first noticed you when we were walking through the turnstiles/

You had a bright pink phone, dark hair and nice smile.

Wish I had the nerve to say hi/

Your sexy hair caught my attention on the platform on the way in to CHI.

I caught a glimpse of your beauty and was like wow/

Talkin bout how you wanna have fun n not be tied down right now.

You was just so fine/

The way you blinked those luscious lashes sent a chill down my spine.

We kept making eye contact/

I like your style very much; nose ring and an anklet just visible enough to distract.

I can't keep my eyes off of you. I'm trying not to stare.

I was the guy with headphones on standing the whole time, I got off at Logan Square.

Maybe one day I'll have the guts to speak to you/

If only I had smiled or waved to let you know I thought you were hot too.

A few GP readers spotted the new 5000-series cars with the aisle facing seats on the Pink Line last week. The CTA said it is still inspecting the cars, which were pulled from service in December after equipment flaws were detected. Are you anxious to see the cars return to service or do you wish the CTA would scrap the cars altogether? Send an email to tswartz@tribune.com. Please include your full name, age and neighborhood.

A weekly dispatch from a CTA station of note

This week: Kedzie Orange Line

There's no need to trash talk the fairly pristine Kedzie Orange Line stop—save for the garbage littering the tracks. Going Public spotted multiple soda bottles and chip wrappers and a Coach brand iPhone case on the tracks Monday morning. Riders need to throw their garbage in the receptacles on the platform and in the stationhouse. Garbage on the tracks can lead to fires, which can lead to delays and ire from riders.

Next up: Laramie Green Line.
