Bowl of nuts

January 31, 2012|RedEye

Media day has quickly become equally the most annoying Super Bowl-related event and the most fun.

Tuesday's edition was no different, featuring all the silliness fans have come to expect in recent year.

While no reporters arrived in a wedding dress planning to propose to a player, Indianapolis' version of media day at Lucas Oil Stadium upped the ante in one unique way: For the first time ever, fans were able to attend. For $25 bucks a pop, of course.

So, what did we learn from media day? Nothing earth-shattering, except this …

Funny hats were mandatory

Victor Cruz wore a sombrero. Devin McCourty wore a patriot hat.

The dark lord CAN smile

Bill Belichick was caught smiling on camera. It's true.

A hot Hispanic reporter always shows up

Enter Marisol Gonzalez and Ines Sainz.

You don't have to be a sports writer to ask questions

Maria Menounos, singer Ciara and "Pick Boy" from Nicktoons were seen roaming among the players.

Weird hair—facial or otherwise—attracts attention

Tiquan Underwood shaved the Patriots logo into his head.
