Update: Airports back in business today

Looks like the airports are back in business.

The Chicago Department of Aviation is reporting Friday morning that airlines operating in and out of both O'Hare and Midway airports are "experiencing normal operations."

On Thursday, nearly 400 flights were cancelled at O'Hare and a total of 125 flights were cancelled at Midway due to the snowstorm.

Travelers need to brace themselves for a traveling headache.

They face flight delays and cancellations at both O'Hare and Midway airports due to the snowstorm.

Airlines at O’Hare had canceled nearly 400 flights in and out of the airport as of 3:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the city’s Department of Aviation. Flights are being delayed an average of 20 minutes for de-icing.

Southwest Airlines has canceled flights Thursday afternoon in and out of Midway but plans to resume its schedule at 6 p.m. A total of 125 flights have been cancelled at Midway and airlines have reported minor delays. | @lvivanco
