Playboy Playmate Crystal McCahill is back. Back home in Chicago.
After three years, Miss May 2009 recently moved out of the Playboy Bunny House across the street from the mansion in California. "Maybe I should get all grown up. I moved out there purely for experience and I was only going to live there for a few months and it turned into three years," she said.
"It's been amazing, but Chicago is where my heart is. I like being here a lot more now."
She admits she did get a little homesick and now lives in the Loop. "I probably moved in the wrong time of the year. But I'm a Chicagoan, I can handle it," she said.
McCahill will be hosting an invite-only event tonight with three other playmates at the new Chicago bar The Ogden to launch Stoli's newest flavored vodka Chocolat Razberi. She stopped by to catch up with RedEye and let us in on what's next.
McCahill, 27, has been sketching designs for her own swimwear line called Hunny Bunny, which she hopes to launch in next spring. She said she'll be strutting around in a white bikini on Michigan Avenue on Dec. 15 for PETA's anti-fur campaign.
How did the partnership come up with PETA? "I tweet them a lot and so they ended up tweeting me back to see if I'd like to get involved and of course I said yes. They're the ones that made me vegetarian [for five years]. I do eat fish so I kind of cheat but I feel bad. But I'll get to that point if I watch another documentary I'm sure."
Is designing swimwear something you had thought about for a while? "I've been kind of itching to do it for a while. I'm starting my web site so I thought it'd go hand-in-hand and I could sell it on there (crystalmccahill.com). It hasn't launched yet but it's in the works."
Is there any particular swimsuit style you like? "Just more fun and different designs and patterns. I like the tie strings more cause I'm a curvier girl and bigger cup sizes maybe."
How do you feel about wearing a bikini in the winter? "I'm nervous. I was walking down the street and I was fully bundled up and I was still dying at how bitter cold it was. So, I'm nervous but it's for a good cause so I'm going to keep that in mind and stick with it. I have hand warmers I'm going to keep in my gloves."
What do you think about the talk of bringing the Playboy Club back to Chicago? "I think that would be an awesome idea. They just opened up the Pump Room and Hugh Hefner and my mom [who was also a playmate] and everyone back in the day used to go there. So I think that's really cool thing to have nowadays, to go back in time."
Next month's Playboy issue features Lindsay Lohan. Are there any other celebrities that you think would be good to pose for Playboy? "Who would I want to see in Playboy? It would be Angelina Jolie."
The Lohan cover recently leaked online. "I'm excited to see it. I feel bad for the girl. She's been through a lot. I think it'll be a great start to getting back on her feet."
Any holiday plans? "Well, my birthday is a week before Christmas on Dec. 18 so I'm getting party bus and taking everyone to Medieval Times."
