'Sanctuary' preview: A reunion and a betrayal in 'Acolyte'

Insurgents from Hollow Earth resurface in the next episode of "Sanctuary," resulting in a happy reunion and an unexpected betrayal.

Kate Freelander is back on Earth, instead of inside it. (The best part of that news, however, is that Agam Darshi is back on "Sanctuary." I've missed her these past few episodes.) In the sneak peek for "Acolyte," airing at 9 p.m. Dec. 9 on Syfy, Kate and Will (Robin Dunne) interrogate an abnormal who is part of the Hollow Earth team plotting an above-ground attack. As you can see, they get no cooperation.

I don't want to give too much away from the episode, but Declan (Robert Lawrenson) helps Kate and Will try to prevent the coming attack and Magnus is forced to contact antagonistic SCIU boss Greg Addison (Brian Markinson).

This also is a big episode for Christopher Heyerdahl and one of his characters, Bigfoot. A couple weeks ago, Heyerdahl told me that Biggie will face some huge issues toward the end of Season 4.

"What's coming up for Biggie is probably the biggest challenge of his hundred-year existence and the biggest challenge of his relationship with Magnus in the Sanctuary," he said.

Has Biggie become a turncoat? Say it isn't so!
