Chicago rapper Trell Love answered our Chi-Tunes questionnaire. Do the same and your band could appear in RedEye!
What makes your live show great?
Fans have your material in their iTunes and always wonder what it's like to see you in person. When they come out to see me live it gives them a chance to feel the energy and passion I get from the songs I make. That energy spreads through the room like wildfire. They can see more of my personality and participate because I'm very interactive with the crowd and always attempt to do the unexpected.
Describe your sound in five words or less.
Fresh, Inspiring, Thought-provoking, Clever.
Tell us something random about the band, and why that's significant.
Everyone is always surprised when they hear me rap because they automatically assume I'm a singer.
Who would you want to work with, and who would you never work with? Why?
I would want to work with Jay-Z, Eminem, Kings of Leon, Kanye West, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Drake and Lil' Wayne. Why? Because they are some of the best at what they do and I always wonder how it would pan out. There isn't an artist I can flat out say I would not work with. Artists always have something different to offer, so I try to stay open because you never know.
If the band was a breakfast cereal, what would it be and why?
I would definitely be Trellios because some of my friends always joke around saying I could make my own cereal with that name. The cereal would consist of T's and "Hearts."
What's the best album you've heard recently?
J. Cole: "Cole World: The SideLine Story" is at the top of the list for me. "Watch The Throne" was dope, too, but I can relate to the position that J. Cole is in at the moment.
What song do you never want to hear again?
Some of my first recordings that I ever made. Lol.
What is Chicago's best music venue and why?
Chicago Theatre because its a landmark in the City of Chicago. I've seen a few concerts there, and once you start selling those type of venues out you're doing great things. That's the goal.
