Instant Replay: Blount tramples the Packers

November 20, 2011|By Brian Moore, RedEye

Will this be the NFL run of the year?

Tampa Bay's LeGarrette Blount reeled off a 54-yard touchdown run that you'll see all over sports highlight shows this week, not to mention every sports blog in existence.

And, to be honest, it's impressive. When he hits the line of scrimmage, it looks as if Blount will be stopped, but he bounces off defenders and finds a hole. Then, as re rumbles toward the end zone, he makes no less than six other Packers players miss him.

Too bad the Buccaneers couldn't beat the Packers, though, right Bears fans?

OH YES

Matthew Stafford

The Bears might have intercepted him four times last week, but Stafford was money Sunday. He threw for 335 yards and five touchdown passes to five different receivers in Detroit's 49-35 win. Yes, 49.

OH NO

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Buffalo's quarterback was buffalo'd in Miami, throwing two interceptions, zero touchdowns and compiling just 209 yards in the Bills loss to the dubious Dolphins.

UH-OH

Adrian Peterson

As if the Minnesota Vikings needed more bad news to add to an already miserable season: All-universe running back Adrian Peterson, perhaps the league's best, went down with an ankle injury in the first quarter. That sound you just heard was his fantasy football owners' seasons going down the toilet.
